When your pet may need MRI or CT
MRI is the gold standard for soft-tissue and neurological problems β seizures, spinal pain, sudden weakness or paralysis, and suspected brain disease. CT excels at bone, chest and surgical planning β complex fractures, nasal disease, and staging of tumours.
Both are performed under anaesthesia by our team, with results interpreted in-house and, where helpful, with specialist radiology input.
Why on-site imaging matters
Many pets in the Klang Valley are referred out for advanced imaging, adding delay and a hand-off between facilities. With MRI and CT on-site, diagnosis, surgery and after-care happen in the same hospital β faster answers, fewer anaesthetic events, and continuity of care.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which vets in KL have an MRI machine?
On-site veterinary MRI is rare in the Klang Valley. Gasing Veterinary Hospital in Petaling Jaya offers both MRI and CT imaging in-house. Call 03-7782 3553 to enquire about referrals.
Does my pet need anaesthesia for an MRI or CT scan?
Yes. Pets must stay completely still for accurate images, so MRI and CT are performed under general anaesthesia with full monitoring by our team.
Can my regular vet refer my pet for imaging?
Yes β we accept referrals from other clinics for MRI and CT imaging and will share results with your primary vet. Ask them to call 03-7782 3553.
