Urgent signs need prompt veterinary assessment. Finding urgent care

For vets: partner with us, or start your own practice

Tails Petcare invests in neighbourhood clinics and builds them into one network. Partner and stay in charge, hand over fully, or start your own. Every route keeps a vet on the register and in charge of the medicine.

For independent vet clinic owners in KL and the Klang Valley

Partner with us: for vet clinic owners

Stay the vet on the register. Get a partner for everything else.

Tails Petcare partners with independent clinics. You keep your clinic, your name and your medicine. We bring the money and a business team for the rest.

We’re an investor building a network of independent clinics under one mark. Your name stays on the door, with ours beside it.

What stays yours

You stay the registered vet.

Your practising certificate, your clinical decisions, your standards.

You stay the registered shareholder.

The clinic company stays in your name.

You stay the clinical lead.

Your team looks to you. So do your clients.

Your clinic keeps its name — and joins the network.

On the door it reads ‘[Your clinic] — a Trusty Tails clinic’. Your clients still see you; they also see you’re backed.

You do the vet work. Your team does the rest.

You trained for years in medicine, not in rosters, suppliers and spreadsheets. Partner with us and you get a business team behind your clinic.

Your people.

Hiring, onboarding, a fair rota and a career path. That's what makes good staff stay.

Rosters and cover.

A roster that matches when patients actually come in, with leave and swaps on record. Cover from nearby partner clinics as the network grows.

Buying.

Agreed suppliers, one approval step and terms negotiated for you.

Stock.

One item list, reorder points and regular counts. Simple systems first.

Prices.

One price list, kept current, so the same service costs the same every time.

Money.

Monthly accounts, payroll, cash flow and the bank, reconciled and explained in plain language.

Capital.

Funding for equipment, a refit or a second site. From us, not from a bank loan.

Legal and compliance.

Employment contracts, working hours, licences, renewals and data protection, kept in order with professional advice.

Equipment.

Choosing, funding and maintaining it, and the licences that come with it.

Marketing.

Your Google profile, website and reviews, accurate and current. No promises your clinic can't keep.

New clients and bookings.

Bookings, reminders and enquiries handled, often with the tools you already own, switched on properly.

Systems that talk to each other.

Bookings in one system, patient records in another, accounts in a third, nothing reconciled, and you the one left making them match. We join them up and run them.

How a partnership works

  • You take some money now and keep a real share of what the clinic earns.
  • Tails takes a majority stake. You keep a meaningful share of the profits. The exact split is agreed with each owner.
  • You stay the registered vet, the registered shareholder and the clinical lead.
  • Who decides what is written down before anyone signs. You lead the medicine. Budgets and big business decisions follow rules we set together.
  • Our fee is written into the deal on day one. No surprise charges later.
  • No bank debt on your clinic. Our capital is committed and ready.
  • There's a pre-agreed basis for Tails to increase its stake over time.
  • We do well when your clinic does well.
  • Every partnership is structured with our lawyers, one clinic at a time.

Four ways in

Sell part and stay on.

Take some money now. Keep practising. Keep a share.

Grow.

Bring in capital for new equipment or a second site.

Plan your succession.

Sell fully when you’re ready. We buy the clinic and bring in a successor vet. Your team stays, your name stays, and the handover runs at your pace.

Try us first.

Start with our support, before any shares are discussed.

Illustration only, not an offer.

Picture a two-vet neighbourhood clinic with steady earnings after its owner draws a full market salary. Tails invests for a majority stake. It can fund new equipment on top. The owner keeps a meaningful share of the profits and stays the registered vet, the registered shareholder and the clinical lead. The split and the price are agreed with each owner after a full review of the clinic's numbers.

Built for Malaysia

Structured with our lawyers, clinic by clinic.

You stay the registered vet and the registered shareholder.

Private capital, committed.

Ready to invest. No bank debt on your clinic.

Your clinic, your name, our network.

Your neighbourhood knows your clinic. ‘A Trusty Tails clinic’ beside your name tells them you’re backed.

Malaysia is short of vets.

The plan is to keep you, not replace you.

Who's behind Trusty Tails

We're pet lovers, private equity investors and business operators. We're building this for Malaysia.

Raghav Narayan, founder of Tails Petcare

Raghav Narayan

Founder, Tails Petcare

I’m a pet person before I’m an investor. My wife and I are vegetarian — not for religion, because we love animals — and we share our home with a cat called Kuching. I got into this because every vet I’ve met loves the work and hates the admin. That’s the part I can fix.

Raghav is an investor and corporate development executive based in Kuala Lumpur. He is Managing Partner of Invest Eurasia, a cross-border investment platform whose interests include private equity, property and hospitality. At Involve Asia, a Kuala Lumpur technology company, he leads investor relations and corporate development, and he led its Series C financing round. Earlier, at the Indofin Group, he sourced and executed cross-border transactions, including a corporate carve-out and an international market entry. He read Economics at St. Stephen's College, Delhi, holds a law degree from the University of Delhi, and has an MBA from the Asia School of Business in collaboration with MIT Sloan.

About this site

Trusty Tails is published by Tails Petcare Sdn Bhd, the investor behind the Trusty Tails clinic directory. Listing in the directory is free for every clinic. Partner clinics are marked ‘a Trusty Tails clinic’.

How we start

  1. 1

    A private conversation.

Your goals for the next few years, the work you'd like to stop doing, and what must stay yours.

  2. 2

    A look at the numbers.

Only with your permission, and kept confidential.

  3. 3

    A written proposal.

Price, what stays yours, what your team takes on, and the fee. All in plain terms.

  4. 4

    Signed and supported.

Structured with our lawyers, then a planned handover of the admin, at your pace.

Questions vet clinic owners ask

Do I lose my clinic?

Not unless you want to. Partner, and you stay the registered vet, the registered shareholder and the clinical lead, with the clinic in your name and ‘a Trusty Tails clinic’ alongside it. Sell fully, and the clinic stays open under a successor vet, with your name honoured.

Who makes the medical decisions?

You do. That isn't up for negotiation.

Do I have to rebrand?

Your name stays. ‘A Trusty Tails clinic’ sits alongside it: that’s the network, and it’s part of the deal.

Who makes the business decisions?

We agree that in writing before signing. Your team handles the admin. Budgets and big decisions follow rules we set together.

Are you vets?

No, and we don't pretend to be. We're investors and business operators who back vets. In every partnership, the vet leads the medicine.

How much of the clinic does Tails take?

A majority stake, with you keeping a meaningful share of the profits. The exact split is agreed with you, clinic by clinic.

What's in it for you?

A share of the profits and a fee for the work we do, both agreed in writing. We do well when your clinic does well.

Will I have to take on debt?

No. We invest our own committed capital. No bank loans on your clinic.

What does it cost me?

Our support fee is agreed in writing before you sign. No surprise charges later.

How is this set up legally?

We’re flexible on how it’s structured; that’s worked out with our lawyers, clinic by clinic. You keep your practising certificate and your place on the register.

What happens later?

There's a pre-agreed basis for Tails to increase its stake over time. Everything else about the future is written down before you sign.

Will you change my team or my prices?

Nothing changes without a plan we agree first. Most changes take work off your team, not add to it.

Will my staff find out?

Not from us. Our conversations are confidential. Your staff hear about it from you, when you decide.
